I recently had the pleasure of attending A Maze in Pottery with my children, and it was truly an amazing experience! I have to say there is definitely something for everyone to enjoy.

I wanted to make my little girl’s 4th birthday special, and since she loves arts and crafts, I figured pottery painting would be a big hit. What I did not expect was that my thirteen-year-old that I dragged along would have a blast as well! If I am totally honest, I am personally looking forward to our next trip also.

Keeping staff and customers safe is their number one priority!

While they do accept walk-ins, I would strongly recommend reserving a table ahead of time to ensure that you can visit on the day and time that you would like. The process for checking in was super quick and aligned with New York state’s health and safety guidelines pertaining to COVID-19. They created a check-in station located at the front of the studio. Customers are asked to sanitize their hands, then everyone’s temperature is taken and recorded.

After that, you can have a seat at your table and review the instructions and updates. They ask that no one touches the pottery on the shelves to avoid spreading germs. You let the staff member who is assisting you know which number you would like, and they bring it right to your table. In another effort to minimize internal traffic, they bring all colors and any necessary materials directly to each customer’s table.

They have essentially restructured their processes to sit comfortably at your table and have everything you need brought directly to you, similar to the experience of dining out these days.

The tables are spaced 6-feet apart, and everyone is required to wear masks for the duration of the visit. Each table and all of the tools are sanitized after use.

Bringing the fun to your home!

At A Maze in Pottery, they understand that a lot of their customers are still not ready to venture out, so they have created a variety of ways to provide pottery painting activities that you can do from the comfort of your home. Their online store contains over 300 shapes, with more than 80 colors and finishes!

The pottery to-go sets are a personal favorite in my home. I love that they have special themes during the holidays! We enjoyed Christmas and Valentine’s Day gift boxes, and we are looking forward to the Easter sets this month. You can even rent art-to-go buckets.

Home deliveries and curbside pickup are available. In addition to that, they also run a variety of online classes and Zoom parties. As if those options were not enough, they have recently announced the launch of their pottery subscription boxes!

So much more!

For the families that do feel comfortable with participating in activities and events outside of their homes, they have some additional services that you should definitely take advantage of.

  • Kids themed birthday parties, step-by-step instruction or free choice, which is also great for teens. These options can also be used for hosting scout parties.
  • Adult parties ranging from ladies’ night out to bridal showers, and wine tastings.

*All parties also come with the option to be hosted in the studio or online via Zoom*

  • Summer camp will also be available!

If you are looking for new activities to keep your children busy or something nice to do as a family. I definitely recommend giving A Maze in Pottery a try. You will not be disappointed. They are one of my favorite local Westchester County businesses to support. If those aren’t good enough reasons to check them out, they are also mom-owned!
