Subscribing to Fall Fashion

0

fall fashionAh, gone are the days of quarantining with sweats, a tee-shirt, and the Tiger King. As we see more “normal” days in the not-so-distant future (please slow your roll delta), it means it’s time to dust off your closet and take wardrobe inventory.

I’ll admit, it was nice on my pocket not having to clothes shop for the office for over a year. But the time has come. I’m ready for fall fashion. My closet is ready. My wallet is, well, still not ready, but two out of three ain’t bad.

Having not stepped foot in a dressing room since 2019, I can tell you I have no recollection of how clothes fit me (selective amnesia, maybe?). I decided to check out available clothing subscription services to save me time, money, and sanity. While I used to think these were indulgent pre-pandemic, I now realize they’re anything but. Each one of these subscription services offers customized experiences which are oh so relevant and timely.

Whether you want to rent clothes to catch up on the latest fashion, need a stylist to pull you out of your sweats, or prefer to live indefinitely in leggings, there’s something on this fall fashion list for everyone!

Rent The Runway

We all know about the amazing designer dresses you can rent for wedding season (get ready for June 2022!), but did you also know you can rent more standard choices every month? Starting at $99, you can rent up to 8 trendy designer digs per month. And don’t worry, RTRs cleaning service is top-notch. No cheap, through away fashion here!

Stitch Fix

For a small fee ($20), a stylist will send curated selections based on your style and body type questionnaire. Try on in the comfort of your own home, keep what you like, send back what you don’t. Perfect for those of us who never remember if a straight leg or boot cut looks better on the booty!

Fabletics

I have to admit, the commercials of Kate Hudson in her tiny little sports bra and cute yoga pants used to give me headaches from all my eye-rolling. I hate to admit it; this stuff is really cute and fits well. One positive side of the pandemic is virtual classes meant I went to the “gym” more than I did pre-pandemic. So I needed something more than old college tee shirts. You can choose the items you want for a monthly fee, or if you skip a month, you get a “store credit”- not bad, Kate!

Enjoy Leggings

Ok, this one I JUST found out about, and it seems glorious. $16.95/month sends you a new pair of leggings. Simple, affordable, and adorable. Yes, please!

Infinitely Loft

Even though Infinitely Loft seems to have taken a hiatus recently, it’s still worth mentioning if and when they bring it back. I used this service before the pandemic and was in love. $65 month brought you an unlimited choice of clothes (the quicker you wore something and returned it, the quicker you got new styles sent to your house) and major discounts on clothes you wanted to keep. Yes, the clothes were used, but they were always very clean and in great condition with 50-85% retail price. I infinitely hope Loft brings this back!

There are so many services it’s hard to try them all. What are your favorites for fall fashion?

She’s mom to her son, Blaise (2016), who’s energy she simultaneously envies and fears. She shares a love of adult beverages with her husband Michael who, like her, is in the spirits industry. A self-proclaimed expert multi-tasker, you can find her on the Hudson Line cramming podcasts, emails and breakfast while penciling in her eyebrows and trying not to spill coffee on her seat mate during her morning commute to the city. On her free time she struggles to choose between doing yoga, reading NY Times best-seller’s or watching all things Real Housewives: the latter usually wins out. In her 20s you could hear her asking when her life would begin- now in her 30s you’ll find her reveling in it-chaos and all.
