Caring for Yourself While Breastfeeding

August 5 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

| Free

In conjunction with Breastfeeding Awareness Month, our multidisciplinary team of experts will show you how to realistically care for your whole self in the months following having a baby while supporting your breastfeeding goals. Registered Nurse and Lactation Consultant Natalia Duffy will discuss how to manage long-term for your breasts while breastfeeding, pumping 101 for supportive feedings, and returning to work while breastfeeding. Registered Dietitian Amy Rosenfeld will discuss your nutrition needs while breastfeeding, including why you are so hungry and how to hydrate and feed yourself well (sometimes with only one hand!). Licensed Clinical Social Worker Rachel Merchan will discuss the vital connection between sleeping and mental health, as well as the importance of communicating your needs to your partner for support. After each short presentation, there will be time for questions and discussion. Babies and partners/companions are very welcome. Masks required for unvaccinated individuals/optional for vaccinated individuals. Social distancing will be enforced. Registration is limited and required.
