Preparing for labor and the birth of a child is, of course, an exciting experience. But let’s be real! It can also be pretty stressful!
There is so much information and advice swirling around from blogs, books, friends, parents, and providers. Lots of this information that everyone is sharing can conflict with what you see on those late-night Google searches.
Our childbirth education classes are evidence-based and non-judgmental. We pride ourselves on making this a relaxed and fun experience. This class will help you weed through the information overload and receive the most up-to-date information so you can collaborate with your provider (and partner or support person) to create a meaningful and empowering birth experience.
What is Labor?
We will focus on the signs and stages of labor, when to go to your birthplace and what to expect when you arrive. We will discuss pain management techniques, including hands-on touch, breathing, acupressure, and positioning for labor.
This engaging class is designed to prepare expecting people (and partner or support person) for labor by providing various options to help each family identify what approach might best support them. Videos and other visuals enhance the learning experience, and the casual setting encourages questions and discussion so that everyone leaves feeling well-informed and confident. This is also an opportunity to meet local parents who deliver near the same time as you!
Our workshops can be taken during pregnancy, but many choose to take the courses in the third trimester. Please plan and book early because classes fill up quickly. Please plan to bring materials for note-taking, water/beverages, and snacks. A break will be offered.
