Fall Fashion Must-Haves!

Ah September! A month full of transitions. Time to transition from the lazy days of summer to brisk, fall walks. Time to transition from carefree lounging by the pool to carpools and homework. And more importantly, time to transition your wardrobe! Goodbye summer rompers, hello knee-high boots!

As NY fashion week comes to a close, it’s time to take a look at the fashion trends taking this fall by storm. I can sum this up in two words: Animal. Print.

I recently attended a fall fashion runway show at the White Plains Bloomingdale’s curated by two fabulous mamas, stylist Penny Goffman owner of Jolie GOtique (@thatpennylife_) and host Donna Korren (@emptyquester) inspiring Tedex speaker, entrepreneur, and former Vogue advertising manager.

Besides bold animal prints, one theme carried throughout was investing in staple pieces. These pieces can be paired and accessorized to transition into different looks. Case in point, this beautiful camel-colored wool trench.

Option one, tone on tone turtle neck with cream pants. Complete this super-sophisticated look by cinching the jacket with the belt.

Option two, a more relaxed look-jacket open, skinny jeans and of course leopard print button down.

Option three, a day to night look, jacket open, knee-high boots with a fun and flirty cheetah print dress. I told you animal print is here to stay this season!

Another trend we’ll see this fall is this beautiful rustic orange color in just about all garments. Here we see it paired with another hot trend, houndstooth, to make THE look of the season.

Jewel tones are still in. Loving the burgundy/wine we saw a lot of last year as well as this super rich emerald-toned jacked.

Sleeveless long vests are also a popular way to pair one garment with many looks.

Last, but certainly not least, more animal print. This time in the form of a cheetah print shearling coat that looks super chic with just about anything.

I’m loving these bold statements that have longevity! We’ve seen animal print time and again making it truly timeless and worth the splurge!

Time to treat yourselves mamas!!

A self-proclaimed expert multi-tasker, you can find her on the Hudson Line cramming podcasts, emails and breakfast while penciling in her eyebrows and trying not to spill coffee on her seat mate during her morning commute to the city. On her free time she struggles to choose between doing yoga, reading NY Times best-seller’s or watching all things Real Housewives: the latter usually wins out. In her 20s you could hear her asking when her life would begin- now in her 30s you’ll find her reveling in it-chaos and all.
