Now you may think I want to tell you about forgiving those you feel have wronged you. Of course, you should try to find room in your heart to do that if you can.
But what I want to stress here and now is the act of forgiving yourself!
You heard me, please take the time today and every day to forgive yourself for the things you feel may have gone wrong in your daily life. Maybe you yelled at your kid; I think it’s safe to say we’ve all been there. Or you snapped at your significant other. Perhaps you’re unhappy with your current appearance, job, or living situation.
Give yourself the grace you’d give someone else you would forgive and let all that stuff go. Realize that tomorrow is a new day and a chance for a fresh start.
Obviously, we are not perfect beings, and we mess up from time to time. On Global Forgiveness Day, forgive yourself. Let me repeat that, forgive yourself. It’s good for your mental health, and more happiness will come to you when you let go of the negativity.
Incidentally, July 7 is also World Chocolate Day, and I can clearly see how the two go hand-in-hand, don’t you?
