Must-Have Spring Cleaning Products

cleaning productsSo March definitely came in like a lion this year! All this wacky weather has caused a house full of crazy children with a wicked case of cabin fever. Between the last few storms and some extended power outages, I’ve pulled out all the stops for indoor fun…even glitter. Hey, I was desperate! Almost every toy my three kids own has been taken out and dumped somewhere. The level of mess is at an all-time high.

I’m so ready for Spring to arrive, and I’m even more ready to get started on my Spring cleaning. I’m itching to get rid of all the toys my kids have grown out of (or don’t play with anymore). I have visions of containers and organization aplenty. It’s also the perfect time to really scrub down the house. All those sticky finger smudges on the walls and windows need to go bye-bye!

And all those spots that quickly get glanced over during my weekly sweep finally need some attention (yes, I’m talking baseboards, those high up shelves, and even the microwave). I’m waiting for the day that the windows can be left open and all these terrible winter germs can finally be disinfected. Who’s with me!?

I have a few fave cleaning products that I love. I know they are guaranteed to get the job done.

Playtex Living Gloves: I can’t get started without a good pair of durable gloves. My hands are small, but the medium size fit perfectly and they will protect your hands from all that grime.

Invisible Glass Premium Glass Cleaner: Not a streak will be left behind and it even works great on stainless steal appliances.

 OXO Good Grips® Microfiber Extendable Duster: This product makes dusting quick and easy, especially since the handle can extend up to 54 inches.

Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner: Your hardwood floors will shine like new with no residue left behind.

Lysol All-Purpose Cleaner: It really cleans every surface and kills 99% of viruses and bacteria. The lemon breeze scent is my favorite!

Freshwave Odor Removing Gel: Nothing works better to battle the odor of my old French Bulldog. And the lavender scent is known to have a calming effect. Bonus!

Like most moms, I’m always looking for something new to try. So I asked a few Westchester County Mom contributors to share their must-have cleaning products too.

Mr. Clean Magic EraserA must-have for all scuffs, stains, and dirt that magically appear on the wall, floor and other areas of the home when you have kids. Just wet it, give a little scrub, and the mess is gone! One warning: sometimes it smudges your paint underneath. But have no fear let it dry, then magic erase again the next day in broad strokes, you can even it out. {Kris & Keveney}

Dreft Laundry Stain Remover:This spray is great for immediately addressing diaper blowouts. You spray in on the dirty clothes (sometimes along with some initial rinsing) and it greatly increases the likelihood of your baby being able to wear that onesie or pair of pants again, minus the poop stains. {Samantha}

Norwex Enviro Cloth: This towel is like the Earth-friendly, reusable version of Mr. Clean Sponges. It takes marker, crayon, paint off my wood dining table, hand prints off walls, door frames, doors; mysterious spots on the floor or counter and all without any sprays or chemicals. You “re-charge” or clean it by boiling it in water on the stove. I’m hooked because it doesn’t require me to scrub hard, it doesn’t leave a residue, and I don’t run out! {Maggie}

Clorox Disinfectant Wipes: They can be used for so many jobs. I even leave a container in my trunk. It’s so convenient to store, easily removes germs and bacteria, and can be used on many different surfaces. {Leah}

Citric Acid: All-natural and can be used to scour pans, scrub toilets or brighten sinks and floors. {Jennifer L.}
Better Life All-Purpose Cleaner and Dish Soap: It’s natural, smells delicious, and really works! {Erica}
