This past June, my son took part in a virtual class called “Focus on Cartooning,” where they met once per week for 4 weeks using Zoom. He worked on a “Hero Project” where students had the opportunity to honor a local hero by drawing a portrait. This project allowed children to consider what makes a hero and allowed them to honor their hero. The class was engaging, fun, and challenging. My son enjoyed each class and made a very cool portrait of his grandfather!
The director of the program was extremely warm and friendly. Prior to the start of the class, we went to the studio to pick up the art supplies needed for the Hero Project. Accidentally, we received the wrong materials, and the director was kind enough to personally deliver the correct supplies to our home! Throughout the month, the director kept excellent communication to ensure the class was going well. My son’s teacher was pleasant, friendly, and a well-trained artist. My son enjoyed each class and was proud of his final work of art!
Their unique project-based method provides a learning experience that is appropriate for all skill levels. As a result, students have more fun, learn faster, and create more compelling outcomes.
I highly recommend One River Hartsdale for virtual classes as well as in-studio classes. It was an enjoyable experience! Their state-of-the-art facility has been designed to provide an inspirational backdrop that stimulates creative engagement. They are currently offering camps and classes, both virtually and in-studio. They are also taking all the necessary precautions to keep students and staff safe during COVID-19.
