I Cried Today

I cried today

I cried today.

I cried when I stubbed my toe when trying to load the dishwasher and check emails from work at the same time.

I cried when my boys were yelling and wrestling instead of making their beds.

I cried when my daughter banged on the bathroom door, asking for help with her classwork even though I was only away from her side for two minutes.

I cried when I listened to the news and heard the updates on this horrible virus.

I cried when I argued with my husband for the fifth time.

I cried, and then I stopped. The situation we are all in is unthinkable, and today it felt unbearable. But tomorrow is a new day.

Tomorrow I will lower my expectations. There might be more tears, but I can always try again.
