Great Generations

Life is all about the unplanned journey. Does this situation ring a bell?

You are sitting at home for what feels like the first time in a month that you have not had a million appointments for you and the kids, errands to run, and homework to deal with. You are re-reading, for the fifth time, the first line of the recipe you are attempting for dinner. The kids are screaming at each other (again) in the other room. The television is blaring and the phone starts ringing. After realizing that no one is going to answer the phone but you, you answer to the sound of your parents talking over each other into the phone. It seems that they forgot about a doctor’s appointment in the city that they need you to drive them to RIGHT NOW! How are you going to deal with your parents, walk the dog, make dinner and help with homework all at the same time? Before you turn into a modern day Mommy Dearest, know that you have the resources at your fingertips to get the assistance you need.

When we were younger, we were taught that we could have it all…a successful career, a well-fed family, well-rounded children, a happy marriage and a full social life. Looking through pre-child rose-colored glasses, why wouldn’t you think that you could do it all? Of course you could handle the job and a baby or two, or possibly stay home with your baby as a full-time mom.

No one wants to think that sometimes you just need a little “me time,” or that your own parents are getting older and need your help and attention. In my case, middle-aged and spread too thin is not a good look. The reality is, you can have it all, just not always at the same time and that is OK. Accepting that sometimes additional support is necessary is the first step in getting there.

Enter Great Generations. We are a premium family support agency based in Larchmont, created as a result of a long career in professional placements while being moms and understanding that motherhood truly is the hardest job of all. We don’t do ‘staffing’. That’s so cold and just not us. We understand that families (like ours) open their doors to support people and those people have to be qualified, thoroughly checked and loyal. It might sound cliché, but we truly put our heart and soul into each placement.Great Generations

A home is a special place, and not just anyone should be added to that dynamic. Whether it is a nanny, senior care, a housekeeper, a tutor or a pet care professional (we do them all), we take time to get it “just right” and to be there on the other end of the phone-line to help throughout the entire process.

As a local business run by moms we take our social networking very seriously! I think I can speak for us all when I say that we love our families endlessly and can all agree that they are our absolute top priority. It’s amazing how they can also be our greatest joys one minute and have us doing epic eye rolls the next (I mean where else would our kids learn how to do it?). We are all on Social Media and love to offer advice to other moms because we’ve been there, done that, and lived to tell about it.

We would love if you could connect with us at  Great Generations. We are here to help you take that much needed deep breath.Great Generations

Why do we do this? Simply, it takes a village to support a family. We needed one with our kids and we are determined to be that village for you.

We look forward to working with you all!
