Spotlight on Westchester :: Peekskill

We all love our cozy little corners of Westchester. There are so many things to do and see, places to eat, and parks to visit. Who doesn’t love exploring the county and “finding” the kid-friendly gems! We are spotlighting some of those awesome places so that other moms can take advantage and get a glimpse into the awesomeness that is Westchester! Read all posts in our Spotlight on Westchester Series.

PeekskillThe Hudson River, the food, the art, the historic buildings, the music…Peekskill may be 50 miles from New York City, but it feels like an honorary 7th borough.

If you’ve never been to Peekskill before, begin your journey along the Riverfront. Here you will fulfill every checkmark of a great day.

Get your inner foodie on with Taco Dive Bar and River Outpost. Enjoy a beer at Peekskill Brewery, and satisfy that sweet tooth at The Hudson Creamery.

Want more water with your waterfront view? You can rent paddleboards and kayaks from Hudson River Expeditions, Hudson Valley H2O, or clink wine glasses during a sunset cruise with NY Boat CO.

Round out your nearly-NYC experience with a stroll downtown. Here you will find your new favorite coffee shop, The Peekskill Coffeehouse, favorite date night tapas place, Iron Vine, and favorite bar, Birsdsall House, with its speakeasy Mahogany bar and 3000 square foot beer garden. Need more faves? Then allow me to suggest Ramenesque for those need-to-feed Ramen cravings and La Cabana for large portions of delicious Latin food at friendly prices.
