Spring Fashion: What’s Hot in 2018

fashionFinally the sun is peeking out from behind the clouds, and ever so slowly but surely, the weather is warming up. You can smell the warmth of Spring in the air. The sun is going down later and every so often you get a spike of mid 60’s. So what’s next?! Shopping of course! My favorite sport. I can feel the light-weight fabrics and see the vibrant colors in my head. So lets open our minds and fashion sense to what’s hot for 2018.

Color, Color and More Color

Bright colors slayed the runways this Spring. Strong solid colors in every shade will be the focus. This is a look to really show off those bright yellows, pinks, and oranges. Pair them in a color blocking way or in a matching color suit that will give you a big bright statement. These colors really bring life to any day of the week with simple makeup and a more neutral shoe for the everyday woman.

Pretty in Pastels

Pastels are the next big thing. They are quite the opposite of those bright colors, but instead the palest shade of every color. These beautiful shades make me think of the sunset and the many hues it gives off. Use them in a strong sophisticated way or in soft romantic sheer and satin fabrics. Lilac was the main event this season for every silhouette. Dress it up with sequins or in a more practical way like bags and sneakers. However you choose to wear them, pastels, and especially that lavender lilac, are a staple this season.

Check It Out

Patterns of plaid are everywhere this Spring. This not-so-new trend has trickled over from pre-fall 2018 and is here to stay in every way. Plaid dresses are a “thing” now, which I think is kind of cute in a formal, yet school-girl way. Wear different plaids together for a more effortless look or throw on your mans old double breasted blazer with a pair of jeans. This trend makes me think of the 90s and the movie Clueless when Cher wore that yellow plaid suit. I can’t help but feel a bit nostalgic for plaids.

The Fancy Pack

The fancy pack, as I like to call it, is the significantly more sophisticated cousin of the original fanny pack worn in the mid 80s and 90s. Sleek options that are worn more like a belted purse in trendy colors and buttery leather. You can even sling it across your body or over your shoulder. No matter how you wear it this cute little bag is super convenient.

The Futuristic Sneaker

Last but certainly not least. Who doesn’t love a cute comfy sneaker? Tiny details will decorate this shoe in an intricate way that makes you take a second look. Nice thick soles will definitely have your foot feeling like you are walking on clouds. This new trend in trainers goes from the high end Louis Vuitton to Nike Air Huarache’s which are all the rage right now. They even come in a variety of trendy colors. Definitely something to look out for that’s great for the mom life.
